About My Term Research Paper
Because of the growing rate of New media websites in all shapes and forms as well as the raise of technology that carries instruments such as smart phones, PDA, computer tablets, I decided to explore social interaction within these parameters. It seems to me that our society was missing the charm of face to face interaction, when choosing to grant importance to such communication methods. It also surprised me that although the voice of the public can clearly be heard on various topics and on different new media websites, individuals select to post anonymously. The research was done using over ten scholarly articles covering internet and social interaction as well as psychological analysis and technological determinism. The overview described new media websites, why are we attract to them, constant relationships and the effects on our society. It conclude, that as technology evolves and applications can, and are made available to users at home as well as on the go, more users will spend additional time on New Media sites such as Facebook or blogs. These sites conveniently fulfill all social needs requirements and are in fact serving as a voice to who we are. New media web sites also retort our basic needs of curiosity, intellect of discovery, sense of safety, and belonging, as well as a new form for social interaction. The relationships that maintained or build during these simultaneously or consecutively tend to believe that face to face interaction is an objective and not a phase. Thus, relationship through these web sites can either be a tool to continue present social relationship or an instigator to new relationships that could not succeed without the element of face to face communication.Only time will tell what will be the consequences of our present selections, but in the race for the new and advance, I wonder if will ever stop to determine these costs.
